The Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics College Owerrinta was the Nigerian Navy institution saddled with the responsibility of training its personnel deployed in the Finance and Logistics Branch. Gracefully, the Nigerian Navy Board in late 2021 approved the splitting of Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics College into Nigerian Navy College of Accounting and Finance, and Nigerian Navy Logistics College. With this division, the Nigerian Navy College of Accounting and Finance remains in Owerrinta while Nigerian Navy Logistics College was moved to Dawakin Tofa, Kano State on 23 January 2022.
Sequel to this movement, the Kano State Government donated an expanse of land with some structures to the Nigerian Navy to establish the College. Therefore, a holding unit, Naval Base Kano was preparing the donated property before the movement of the College to Dawakin Tofa. Accordingly, on arrival of the College personnel from Owerrinta, the Commander of Naval Base Kano handed over mantle of leadership to the Commandant and that saw the end of Naval Base Kano. Since then, the College has commenced training activities of NN logistics personnel. This led to the successful graduation of the first set of student officers and rating on 1st July 2022.
