Logistics Support is Crucial for Operations in the Nigeria Navy
The Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC), Dawakin Tofa, Kano was established to train tactical and operational level officers as well as ratings in military logistics for continuous attainment of operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy (NN). The College was carved out of the defunct Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics College (NNFLC) Owerrinta, Abia State in 2021, sequel to the approval of the Navy Board.
Establishing a Logistics College in the NN became imperative as combining training of finance and logistics personnel in one single institution grew increasingly difficult due to limited space and facilities at Owerrinta. Likewise, the increasing operational commitments of the NN, which requires flexibility, robustness and creativity in logistics management further compelled the establishment of NNLC as a separate institution. The College commenced academic activities in January 2022 and was formally commissioned on 26 May 23
