The Commandant, Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC) Dawakin Tofa Kano, Cdre James Kolade Adediji hails from Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State. He enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of the 45 Regular Course and was commissioned Sub Lieutenant in 1998.

The senior officer attended several academic and military courses at home and abroad. For the academic courses, he obtained a BSc in Economics from NDA, a Masters in Transport Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho Oyo State and a Masters in Supply Chain Management from Kaduna State University.

The Commandant attended Sub Technical Course at the NNS QUORRA Lagos and Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. Other courses attended include the Basic Officers Logistics Course at the defunct Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics College (NNFLC) Owerrinta, as well as the Command and Staff Course at Rhode Island, USA. He also attended Defence and Security Management Course, Peace Support Operations Course and Higher Defence and Strategic Studies Course all at the National Defence College, Abuja. The Senior Officer also attended the Advanced Logistics Course at BNS TITUMIR Bangladesh, the Defence Attaché Orientation Course in Diplomacy and Security Policy at Ethiopia, as well as the Joint Logistics Operations Course at Nigerian Army College of Logistics, Lagos.

The Commandant has held several appointments in the Nigerian Navy, including pioneer crew member onboard NNS KYANWA and NNS THUNDER, where he joined in sailing the 2 NN ships from the USA to Nigeria in 2003 and 2012, respectively. Cdre Adediji worked with the Honorable Minister of Defence from Jan 13 to Jan 15 as the General Staff Officer I. The Commandant was the Training Commander at NNFLC Owerrinta from Feb 15 to Nov 15. Cdre Adediji was the General Manager of Business Development at Navy Holdings Limited. He was also the Deputy Director of Procurement at the Naval Headquarters from Apr 21 till his appointment as the Commandant of NNLC Dawakin Tofa from 4 Aug 23.

The Senior Officer has the ECOMOG Medal for Peace-Keeping in Sierra Leone and a certificate for crossing the Panama Canal. Other awards obtained by the Commandant are Passed Staff Course, Forces Service Star, Meritorious Service Star and Distinguished Service Star. He is also a Fellow, National Defence College, Abuja. Commodore JK Adediji is a member of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria as well as the Institute of Procurement and Supplies UK. Additionally, he is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). Commodore Adediji is a Life Member of the United States Naval War College Foundation. He was also part of the Committee for domestication of Long Logistics Management Course for Nigerian Navy logistics officers.

The Commandant enjoys reading, travelling and watching soccer. The senior officer is happily married and the union is blessed with children.
