The Nigerian Navy Logistics College on 26 May 2023 was commissioned as a full Naval unit. The commissioning was done by president Muhammadu Buhari and had other government officials in attendance including the Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Auwal Zubairu Gambo as well as heads of military formations.The president commended the Chief of Naval Staff and his team with a level of infrastructural development and partnership with other institutions, adding that the college will no doubt enhance intelligence opportunity in the management of logistics operation. The Commandant of the College Commodore Usman Bugaje received the Commissioning warrant from the Naval Chief as a way of handing over authority to command the Unit.
